Profile of activities

The objective of OBET's scientific and research activity are widely comprehended transport-related issues, particularly involving financial, economic, organisational and legal issues, which are considered in terms of the transport system as a whole as well as in terms of specific transport modes, individual entities and in territorial aspect.

We offer our consulting services and we are ready to work out research and analytical studies and scientific assessments or evaluations related to rail, road, air and inland waterway as well as local transport systems and combined transport.

Basic fields of OBET's research activity, where the Institute possesses the greatest creative achievements and scientific knowledge, are:

• transport policy issues at regional, domestic and international levels;
• marketing of transport services (market research and market transformation);
• analyses and forecasting of demand for transport services, as well as transport planning;
• financial and economic evaluation of transport investment projects;
• development of logistics systems in transport;
• transport organisation and management, including the restructuring of transport enterprises;
• functioning and development of the intermodal transport in Poland;
• ecological aspects of transport activities;
• tariff policies in freight and passenger transport;
• adjustment of the Polish transport system to the requirements and regulations of the European Union;
• elaboration of the projects of legal acts for transport sector.
